The name is Brad. I was born and raised in Decatur, IL and have been a lover of music all my life. Spent many years doing musical theater, choirs, and selected groups but consider my years under the tutelage of Milt Scott the finest. I first came up for the idea for TSE in 1997 from my sister Melissa when she said I should get a group of guys together to sing acapella after we saw The Blenders in concert. I took her advice and was off and running. For the past ten years, I have sung bass with the group but have now decided to step up to tenor/baritone since Marcus can sing lower than me :) |
Special thanks:
God - For answering my prayers and keeping me alive and well.
Dana - For being the love of my life and saying I do.
Mom and Dad - For being my biggest fans.
Melissa and Merle - Sis for the great idea and Merle for being Math Man.
Last but not least, Seth, Cory, Marcus, and Jeff for being some of the greatest and most talented guys I've ever shared a stage with.

What can I say but...it's been a not-so long, but interesting life for me as part of The Second Edition. I'm Cory Allen, proud to be part of what I think is one of the most unique musical experiences around. I say that from being on the stage, and from the audience as well. I'll get to that in a second.
I'm a southern IL guy who loves music and to entertain. I moved here some time ago to be a radio personality, and while that road ended, so many other roads opened up, one of such roads was The Second Edition. |

My first TSE involvement was in the audience a few years ago at Decatur Celebration. I saw five talented guys on stage, truly putting their heart and souls into some unique and fun performances. Little did I know a few short months and member changes later, I would get a chance to be a part of the machine.
But more than that, I feel lucky to have become such close friends with each and every guy in this group (and a few who have taken to other endeavors since I've joined). Whether at a party, on stage, in a hallway, in front of three or several hundred listeners, this group is about love and respect: For each other, for the songs we sing, and for each and every person who grants us a chance to entertain them.
So come check out a show if you get the opportunity. I promise you we will give our all. As a wise man one said, "lend me your ear and I'll sing you a song, I will try not to sing out of key."
Besides, these guys would kill me if I did

I was born and raised in Decatur IL. I got into music at the age 6 by joining the junior choir at the church my family attended. From there it matured to adult choir and mixed chorus at school until the time I graduated. While in college Brad,(tenor in The Second Edition, friend since 7th grade) approached me with an offer to join an acapella group he was regrouping from high school, as a vocal percussion part. At the time I had minimal experience with beatboxing but Brad had faith that I could pull it off, Then The Second Edition was reborn from du wap acapella to the sound we call vocal rock. |
| After alot of training and non-stop practice I developed a well perfected sound that adds my crucial sound to our group. I have been with this group for 10 years running now and no plans on going anywhere else anytime soon. I might not be a singer like I originally planned but I'm very happy with the talent that I carry and wouldn't give it up for nothing in the world. We have an amazing sound and plan on showing it to everyone with out a doubt of any disappointment. If you miss a chance to see us do our thing then your missing out on a experience you would never forget. Be sure to check it out. |

Hey Everyone! Chocolate Bear, AKA CBear, AKA Jonesy, AKA Turk, AKA Marcus is here. Just a Navy reservist who is known this crazy group of guys for about 10 years. The youngest of 5 siblings; Music was always playing in the house. From Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, The Platters, The Drifters, even some country was my usual diet growing up. I never would have known that an impromptu jam session with these guys would lead to this opportunity to show my skills and a long time dream to perform for the public. |

Favorite hobbies: Halo 3 online, gadgets, creative projects and landscaping
Of all the performing I've done throughout the years, The Second Edition is by far the most rewarding experience. It's amazing to me how something that is so much work could possibly be so fun. It's a real credit to the guys in the group, their families and our fans that even 10 years after our first performance we not only still enjoy performing... we still enjoy each other as well.
At one point I even tried to split off and "do my own thing". It didn't work out at all and I can see, in hindsight, it takes a special breed of person to make something as good as what I've found with this group. We all work hard, communicate pretty well and, above all, we all enjoy singing. |
Over the years several people have asked what it's like in TSE and why we do what we do. I can't speak for everyone but I know it has changed for me over the years. I used to do it for "chicks". Then I did it because I wanted to "share my soul" with my audience (yeah... I had a melodramtic touch in my earlier yerars). Truth is... now I just do it because I really enjoy the sound we produce when we get together. Our sound is so unique, not because it's never been done before, but because of the way we blend, the style we bring to the table and the life we breathe into each arrangement. There's a brotherhood that binds us together through the act of singing and although I'm really glad we can share this with all our fans, I think I would honestly be just as happy jammin' in a small room with these incredibly talented guys. |
